About FastTrack

FastTrack is a network that is used by various client programs such as Kazaa, Grokster and iMesh. It is currently the biggest filesharing network. This doesn't mean that it is the best one too! The popularity of FastTrack is slowly dropping and for good reasons. There are simply better networks and clients available.

Advantages:

- Big network with lots of users
- Fairly easy to use
- Download speeds can be very good (but...)

Disadvantages:

- All official clients contain adware
- Lots of corrupted files*
- Lots of malicious software on the network. Specially small executables such as cracks are often actually virusses.
- Sometimes speed can be dramatically low. Or files simply don't download at all.
- Almost no high quality files or new releases on the network

* Most of them are intentionally spread on the network by companies that want to stop filesharing. This mostly happens with mp3 files. This is possible due to a major design flaw in how the network identifies files.

Usage:

FastTrack can be used to download single mp3 files, porn and tv episodes. Other stuff like full albums, software, games and movies are less easy to get from FastTrack. So you better use other networks for that.

Clients

Kazaa (Warning! Contains adware)
Grokster (Warning! Contains adware)
iMesh (Warning! Contains adware)

The above clients all contain a shitload of advertising and other unwanted extra software. So it is NOT recommended to install them! There exist many unofficial clean versions of the clients above! Most of them can be recognized by the extra term "clean" or "lite" in their name. For more information about them you should search on Google. There are also some new open-source programs that are able to connect to FastTrack. For example MLDonkey and giFT.

Please note that all FastTrack clients are 100% free (with the exception of Kazaa Plus) and don't require subscriptions of any kind! Ignore the many scam sites (like Kazaa Gold, etc.) that ask money for them. If you do have been tricked in paying for something, then contact your creditcard company to see if the money can be refunded.
